Since China's reform and opening up, especially in the past 10 years, the hardware industry and its enterprises have greatly narrowed the gap with the world in terms of scale, management, benefits, product varieties, quality, grade, production equipment, technical means and mode, and even exceeded the international level in some aspects. In 2005, the total import and export volume of China's hardware products reached 38.597 billion US dollars, with a year-on-year increase of 23.63%. Among them, the total export volume was 30.512 billion US dollars, with a year-on-year increase of 26.44%. China's hardware industry is developing at an annual growth rate of 20%, with an annual total output value reaching 400 billion yuan, which is higher than that of the household appliance industry. The export volume of China's entire light industry accounts for about 25% of the country's total export volume, and the export volume of the hardware industry ranks among the top three in light industry. China's hardware products are spread almost to every corner of the world, and China is becoming a veritable big country in the hardware industry.
